M.O.U.S.E. Book Club Selection of July

Each month, M.O.U.S.E. will provide an excellent book to read for our avid bibliophile (lover of books) and people that want to feed their minds.

The M.O.U.S.E. Book Club book selection for July is the Everything Store by Brad Stone.

This book takes an in-depth look into the life of the Amazon mogul himself Jeff Bezos. The way the book is written, is a journalistic ride that makes the reader feel like they are along for the ride the entire duration of the Amazon Journey. It is a great book that displays the trials and tribulations that a founder of a start-up goes through, and more importantly the courage and self-confidence one must have to follow and establish his or her visions.

How many of you would leave a six-figure job annual with only your newly wed wife and a couple thousand dollar investment from your parents to pursue a dream? For Jeff Bezos it was an easy decision when he decided to make a risk-reward chart, and figured that his biggest risk would be him not chasing after his vision and somebody fulfilling it before him (little did he know at the time that the reward would result in a net worth of 34.7 billion dollars). Because he made the decision to take action, he packed his bags moved to Seattle and that’s where he began creating the world’s best and biggest online store, Amazon.

If you are interested in starting your own business and are an entrepreneur this book will light a fire within you to follow your heart, and focus on your vision. In 2013, this book was also voted business book of the year by Financial Times and Goldman Sachs.

This is definitely a great book to check out, and I am looking forward to hearing how much you enjoy it!

My Favorite Quote from the Book:
“I believe you have to be willing to be misunderstood if you’re going to innovate.”
